iNova Pharmaceuticals has announced a new partnership, joining Chemist Warehouse and Pharmacycle’s blister pack recycling initiative to help reduce blister pack waste and support more sustainable healthcare practices across Australia.

Through the partnership, iNova will support the collection and recycling of blister packs in all Chemist Warehouse pharmacies nationwide. The initiative encourages customers to return empty blister packs to their local Chemist Warehouse pharmacy, and Pharmacyle facilitates the responsible processing and recycling of blister packs that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Blister packs are traditionally difficult to recycle due to their mix of plastic and aluminium, and cannot be recycled through kerbside recycling programs. Pharmacyle’s specialist recycling program separates and repurposes these materials, helping to divert waste from landfill and reduce the environmental footprint of pharmaceutical packaging.

The iNova partnership with Pharmacyle will roll out across all Chemist Warehouse pharmacies, with expansion planned as the program continues to grow.

“iNova, together with Difflam®, Demazin® and Betadine®, is proud to invest in practical sustainability programs that make a real impact in our communities” said Chris Sadler, iNova Global Director of Customer Development & Australia Consumer Sales

“Our partnership with Chemist Warehouse and Pharmacycle makes blister pack recycling easy and accessible for all Australian families and reflects our commitment to delivering everyday health and wellbeing.”

“We’re excited to welcome iNova to the Pharmacyle blister pack initiative. The initiative forms part of Chemist Warehouse’s broader commitment to accessible healthcare and sustainability, offering customers a simple, in-store solution to recycle used blister packs while continuing to shop for their health and wellness needs,” said Chemist Warehouse Deputy CEO, Mario Tascone.

“We’re incredibly proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Chemist Warehouse and to welcome iNova to the initiative. By supporting Chemist Warehouse, iNova is demonstrating brand leadership in sustainability, making recycling easier for consumers and creating real environmental impact.”

“We know how much consumers value the Pharmacycle program, and we’re excited to see the positive impact this new partnership will bring in 2026.” Said Ursi Kernan, Key Relationship Manager at Pharmacycle.

To date, Chemist Warehouse and Pharmacyle have recycled 50 million blister packs.
